After A and I got engaged and my initial surprise subsided, I quickly became overwhelmed with the seemingly monumental task of planning a wedding. Pinterest became my best frenemy, as I learned that there is such a thing as too much inspiration. Did I want a romantic country wedding or a chic city affair? It was too hard to decide with millions of gorgeous photos staring back from my computer screen.
I knew that in order to make a decision I had to take a step back to think about my own style. If I asked my guests to describe my wedding using two adjectives, what would I want them to say? I quickly settled on classic and elegant, and these two adjectives helped me to narrow my focus and pick a venue. With the venue booked, I had a much more clear idea of what the day would look like, and suddenly things began to fall into place. I started to notice themes among the photos I was pinning (ahem, lots of white flowers), and that helped me to pick my dress, decor, and other key elements of the day.
Without giving too much away, here are some of the photos that inspired me and helped shape my vision for the big day (which is now just two months away)!
