Today marks our two month wedding anniversary! I can’t believe how quickly the time flies, and I’m so excited to finally be sharing some of the photos from the big day! I’ll be sharing many more photos and details over the next four days, but for now let’s start with my “somethings”…
I wish that all of my grandparents could have been with us to celebrate our special day, but I was lucky enough to have a piece of each of my grandmothers with me as I walked down the aisle. The center stone in my engagement ring came from my paternal grandmother’s engagement ring, and I also wore the pearl earrings that I inherited from my maternal grandmother.
My wedding dress and veil were brand new. Here’s a sneak peek of the dress while my mom buttoned up the back. I’ll be sharing many more photos of the dress tomorrow!
They’re not easy to spot, but there were a handful of silk stephanotis stems mixed among the fresh blooms in my bouquet. These silk flowers were used in my mom’s wedding bouquet when she married my dad back in 1984! (You may be able to see one in this photo below the peony that’s just to the right of the greens poking up in the middle of my bouquet.)
My mom hand-embroidered my maiden initials – AJB – in blue thread and sewed her handiwork into the hem of my dress. I made sure to remove my something blue from my dress before preserving the gown so that I can keep this sweet memento near me always!
