As soon as our wedding ceremony ended our guests made their way to the patio for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. A and I joined in the merriment (we were thankful to have had our photos taken before the ceremony!), and had so much fun catching up with family and friends who had traveled from all over to celebrate in our big day. As soon as cocktail hour ended, the party moved to the ballroom where A and I made our entrance as husband and wife and enjoyed our first dance.
I had spent most of my energy before the wedding focusing on the aesthetic details and logistics, but I also wanted to be sure that our guests would have fun. This aspect of the evening we left up to our MC and DJ. Our MC recommended that we open up the dance floor right away and take some “dance breaks” during the meal rather than saving all of the dancing for the end of the night, and we loved this idea! As soon as our first dance ended, we were joined on the dance floor by the rest of our guests, and the celebration kept rolling from there. By the end of the night my feet were sore from dancing and my cheeks hurt from smiling for hours, but it was the best night of my life.
We shared our first dance to “Thinking Out Loud” by Ed Sheeran.
As soon as our first dance was over, our friends and family filled the dance floor to help us kickoff the party. I love this shot of us dancing and laughing with my parents.
There were lots of laughs during speeches by my dad and the best man…
…and lots of happy tears as I danced to “Forever Young” by Rod Stewart with my dad.
Through the craziness of the day, the quick, private moments that I was able to steal with A and my family were so precious. I love this snap of my mom, sister/Maid of Honor, and me at the end of the evening.
