A splash of apple cider syrup amplifies the fall flavor of this Apple Cider Whiskey Cocktail. If you love a classic rye and ginger, then you need this cocktail recipe!
Do you have a go-to cocktail?
I certainly do, but mine tends to change with the season. In the summer I favor a refreshing gin and tonic. In fact, A and I love them so much that we had a jazzed up gin and tonic as the signature cocktail at our wedding!
But as soon as the colder weather rolls around, I’m all about a nice rye and ginger. It’s the easiest cocktail in the world to make – just mix rye whiskey and ginger ale – and it’s super delicious and pretty cozy.
This fall, to add a simple twist to my go-to cocktail, I added a splash of cider syrup. You may remember me talking about cider syrup a few weeks ago when I made these peach hand pies, and since my aunt kindly gifted me a bottle of cider syrup I’ve been adding it to everything. It lends a sweet, apple orchard flavor to this Apple Cider Whiskey Cocktail, and the flavor just screams fall!
Apple Cider Bourbon Cocktail

1/2 oz. cider syrup*
6 oz. ginger ale
Stir whiskey and cider syrup together in a glass. Top with ginger ale and add ice. Enjoy!
*I recommend Carr’s Cider Syrup, which you can find at the brick-and-mortar and online retailers listed here. You could also substitute homemade cider syrup or even maple syrup in this cocktail if you prefer.
