Grilled donuts have a warm, lightly crispy exterior but retain their light, fluffy interior. They're perfect topped with grilled peaches and a scoop of vanilla ice cream!
Grilling is hands-down my favorite way to cook during the summer months, and I'm always looking for new grilling recipes to try. But I don't want to limit our grilling to just meats and veggies! We so often associate grilling with savory recipes, but that's a real shame because grilled desserts are such a fun and delicious way to enjoy a sweet summertime treat!
My recipe for grilled strawberry shortcake has been a big hit since I published it last summer, and it has quickly become one of my favorite summer desserts. I know that you love recipes that put a fun spin on classic desserts as much as I do, and the grilled pound cake adds a unique element to this classic summer treat. Inspired by this recipe, I set out to create another grilled dessert that combines classic ingredients in a fun and interesting way.
Introducing... grilled donuts with grilled peaches and vanilla ice cream!
Peaches were practically made to be grilled. The grill caramelizes the stone fruit's sugars to sweet perfection. Plus peaches just look so pretty with grill marks. To really elevate the grilled peaches, I paired them with grilled donuts! Donuts may not be an obvious choice for the grill, but believe me when I tell you that grilling the donuts makes them even tastier!
These grilled donuts with grilled peaches and vanilla ice cream are a breeze to make. Start with classic glazed donuts (bonus points if they're homemade, but store-bought donuts will work just as well!) and toss them on the grill with some peaches. The donuts' glaze will become slightly crisped while the donuts will maintain their light and fluffy interior, and the sweetness of the peaches will be amplified by the grill's heat. Stack the grilled donuts and grilled peaches and top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a simple, delicious, and impressive summer dessert!
