Cookie Dough

Save time and always have fresh-baked cookies ready when you want them with these tips for how to freeze cookie dough!

Step 1 - Place the cookie dough balls onto a cookie sheet in the freezer for 1 hour to firm up.

 To freeze scoop or drop cookies (like chocolate chip or molasses):

Step 2 - Transfer the frozen cookie dough balls to a plastic bag or freezer-safe container and return to the freezer.

Step 3 - When you’re ready to bake, you may need to bake the dough 1-2 minutes longer, since the dough will be frozen.

Step 1 - Wrap the log of dough log tightly with plastic wrap. Place it into a plastic bag or a freezer-safe container and put it in the freezer.

To freeze slice-and-bake cookies (like shortbread):

Step 2 - Just before you’re ready to bake, thaw the dough in the fridge for an hour or two. Then slice and bake the dough according to the recipe.

Step 1 - Wrap the unrolled dough tightly with plastic wrap. Place it into a plastic bag or a freezer-safe container and put it in the freezer.

To freeze roll-and-cut cookies (like sugar or gingerbread):

Step 2 - Before you’re ready to bake, thaw the dough in the fridge overnight.

Step 3 - Roll out, cut, and bake the thawed dough according to your recipe.
