Soft Gingerbread Snowflake  Cookies

Using a simple icing, it's easy to decorate these cookies as snowflakes, Christmas trees, gingerbread men, and more!

This recipe makes the best soft gingerbread cookies full of festive flavor.

Vanilla

Baking Soda

Egg

Butter

Milk

Flour

Spices

Molasses

Confectioners' Sugar

Brown Sugar

In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and spices. Set aside.

Step 1

Cream the butter and sugar. Add the egg and molasses and beat until combined.

Step 2

Gradually add the flour mixture and mix on low speed until combined.

Step 3

Divide the dough into discs, wrap each in plastic, and chill.

Step 4

Roll out the chilled dough on a lightly floured surface and cut with cookie cutters.

Step 5

Bake the cookies at 350°F for 8 to 10 minutes. 

Step 6

Mix the icing by whisking sugar, milk, and vanilla together in a medium-sized bowl until the mixture is smooth.

Step 7

Transfer the icing to a piping bag fitted with a small, round tip and pipe icing onto cooled cookies.
