Mummy Cookies

Chocolate

These soft dark chocolate cookies are made from scratch with black cocoa powder and decorated with white chocolate mummies!

Baking Soda

Melting Wafers

Sugar

Vanilla

Black Cocoa

Milk

Brown Sugar

Butter

Flour

In a medium bowl, add flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt and whisk to combine.

Step 1

Using a stand mixer or electric hand nixer, cream the butter and both sugars until light and fluffy.

Step 2

Add egg, milk, and vanilla to the butter mixture and beat to combine.

Step 3

With the mixer running on low speed, slowly add the flour mixture to the butter mixture blending until combined.

Step 4

Scoop 1 ½ Tablespoon balls of cookie dough onto parchment-lined baking sheets.

Step 5

Bake the cookies at 350°F for 10 minutes or until the cookies are flattened with slightly puffed centers.

Step 6

Melt the white chocolate wafers in the microwave on 50% power, stirring until completely smooth.

Step 7

Add the melted chocolate to a piping bag fitted with a small round piping tip (or simply use a large plastic food storage bag with one corner snipped off). 

Step 8

Affix the eyeballs using white chocolate, then pipe lines of chocolate back and forth across each of the 4 "corners" to create the mummy's wrapping.
