In 2020, while everyone else was experimenting with sourdough bread, I was at home perfecting my chocolate chip cookie recipe. There are thousands of chocolate chip cookie recipes on the Internet, so if I was going to share another one it had to be the best!

This required loads of testing, experimenting with different ingredients, like types of flour, ratios of leaveners, and types of chocolate chips. I tested different methods for mixing ingredients (like melted butter versus creaming room temperature butter) and different bake times and temperatures. I was happy to do it, because baking and tasting batch after batch of chocolate chip cookies is literally my dream job!

After countless rounds of test batches, I landed on the recipe for perfect chocolate chip cookies. The dough is rich and buttery with a hint of caramel flavor and it bakes up soft and chewy with edges that are just slightly crispy.

Even better, the dough is incredibly simple to make. It uses melted (instead of room temperature) butter, so it can be mixed by hand with a whisk instead of a stand mixer.
